Our reading written by Costa Rica Artists
Héctor Burke is a printmaker by training at every level his profile lists: a bachelor's degree and a licenciatura in printmaking, plus woodcut study with Claude Huart.
The profile's reading of the work is about masks: a face made to meet a society that the work both lashes and evokes, like a mirror. The profile lists an exhibition titled Testigos Estratigráficos. He received the Áncora visual arts prize for 2001 to 2002 and showed in a survey of Costa Rican art abroad.
